I (and especially my husband) have the exact same problem... we recently threw away half of our balcony because it died during August, but don't ask me how much money we spent on watering equipment and how many trips to the store that took... 😮‍💨

Next year again! 😁

I’ll always keep starting over - it’s the process that’s fun!

I can relate to all of this. My flowerbeds are a mixture of neat and tidy (sort of), overgrown and/or full of weeds. Eventually, as the weather cools and the growth slows down, I’ll get around to it all and even enjoy the more bare look before spring - until it all starts again.

I realize I could have a more “controlled” garden - less work for sure, but also less of the beautiful mess of all the flowers, the butterflies, bees, birds, etc. I’ll always choose the glorious mess and work at it when I can. Regarding work in her garden, mom used to say, “You can do a lot in fifteen minutes.” I’ve found that I be true.

Yes! I set tiny time goals for myself too ♥️ I never heard her say that, so thank you for sharing!

It was in her later years when Rheumatoid Arthritis made it challenging for her to work in her garden for long stretches.

yeah - that was when I was living so far away. She would talk to me on the phone for long stretches sometimes on my commutes to work ;)
